Frikadelli Racing is well prepared for the new season

19.03.2019

Next Saturday the new VLN season on the Nürburgring starts. Many fans will be happy, that the five-month winter break now will be over. For the first race of the season, Frikadelli Racing is well prepared with two Porsche 911 GT3 R and strong drivers to steer the car.

“On the last weekend we successfully raced our first kilometres at the VLN testing day. Despite the undistinguished weather we could gather intelligence. We want to use this knowledge for the first VLN-race.” says team manager Klaus Abbelen.

The cockpit of the new Porsche 911 GT3 with the number 31 will be shared by the Porsche young professionals Mathieu Jaminet (FRA) and Matt Campbell (AUS). Both pilots already drove for Frikadelli and bring tailwind from their previous successes to the Nürburgring. While Jaminet is reigning champion of the ADAC GT Masters, Campbell recently won the 12 hours if Bathurst.

“Our focus surely is on preparing for the 24 hour race. Every kilometre counts especially with our new car. So I hope, that we will make the four hours without a problem and can collect lots of data. If we achieve a good result in addition to that, we would take it gladly.” Abbelen continues.

The tried and true sister-car with the number 30 will be driven by Sabine Schmitz, Klaus Abbelen and Alex Müller.
