Frikadelli Racing tackles the new Nürburgring season with a mix of new faces and known quantities. Last year’s drivers Norbert Siedler (35) and Alex Müller (39) will again drive the cult team’s Porsche in the Endurance Championship Nürburgring (VLN) and the 24-hour race. Swiss resident Müller made his first appearance in the #30 Frikadelli Porsche in the classic 24-hour race in 2017 and consequently entered three VLN legs in the #31 Porsche 911 GT3 R. Siedler has been with the team since 2016 and has been driving eight races for Frikadelli. With sixth place overall in the 24-hour race and fourth position in the fourth VLN leg he contributed to the team’s best two results of the 2017season.

“I’m absolutely delighted that Klaus Abbelen again puts his trust in me and I’m very much looking forward to my third season with Frikadelli Racing”, says Norbert Siedler who lives in Waldschönau in Austria near the German border. “Together with our new tyre partner Dunlop we have great ambitions this year and want to fight for the podium. From what I’ve seen so far the team is definitely heading in the right direction. Since November, we made significant progress.”

“That’s mega exciting I’m and looking very much forward to this year’s season. The team have put together an amazing program and a competitive package”, says a jubilant Alex Müller. “I’ve been with the team since last year’s 24-hour race and I want to especially thank Klaus Abbelen for giving me the opportunity. In Dunlop we have found a very strong tyre partner with whom we try to achieve good results. The atmosphere within the team is great and I certainly don’t have to mention that Klaus and Sabine are fantastic guys. I’m also very happy with my fellow drivers. Klaus and me had a few amazing races together in 2017 and Lance David Arnold is like a younger brother for me.”

“We are still putting together all the ingredients for the new season. That goes for the driver line-up, too. However, there was absolutely no reason to change anything concerning Norbert Siedler and Alex Müller. They are both fast as well as reliable and their experience is a valuable asset to the team”, confirms team principal Klaus Abbelen. “Their commitment is one of the consistent factors that it takes to further develop a racing outfit. I’m excited to see how they will harmonise with our new boys Lance David Arnold and Felipe Laser. Regarding our driver line-up we have definitely made another step forward. We are not quite complete particularly looking at the 24-hour race; but I think we have entered the finish straight.”
