After the Frikadelli Racing Team was in the first half of the year with the two Porsche 911 GT3 R at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the team of Sabine Schmitz and Klaus Abbelen will break new ground for the rest of the season. For this purpose, the cult team from Barweiler does an further attractive racing program in order to reorientate itself with respect to the year 2020.

"We would like to use the second half of the season to get a comprehensive picture of the respective championships in as many different racing series as possible. Some gueststarts are planned to help us find our suitable field of application for 2020, "explains team boss Klaus Abbelen, who was already on the road in Spa-Francorchamps last weekend as part of the Porsche Motorsport GT2 Supersports Car Weekend.

"The event was a lot of fun for me personally. It was nice to be back on the circuit at Spa-Francorchamps, which I have not driven for ages. We were able to get over the distance with our new Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport without problems and were able to achieve the third and fifth place at the premiere of the model. I am very satisfied with this performance because the field of drivers was very strong ", said Abbelen afterwards.

For the Frikadelli Racing Team, the next event is a guest start in the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring (16.-18.08.2019). Only two weeks later it continues with the 24h race of the Creventic 24h Series in Barcelona (30.08.-01.09.2019). By the end of the year, further assignments are planned in the International GT Open, the Blancpain GT Series, the Special Touring Car Trophy and the Porsche Sportscup.

"Our fans can be absolutely sure that we will not be bored in the second half of the season either. Beyond these racing series we will be in the VLN Endurance Championship as usual the Porsche Cayman from Hendrik von Danwitz and "Jules" supervise ", said Abbelen.
After the first four races of the season, the driver duo leads the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport classification (Type 981). At the 6h race this coming weekend Danwitz and "Jules" want to successfully defend their top position. They will receive support from Sabine Schmitz, who will compete on the Porsche Cayman as well as on the BMW 325i E90 from Speedbeat Motorsport. Here, the two-time overall winner of the 24h Nürburgring shares the cockpit with Beat Schmitz and Andre Sommerberg.
