Great anticipation for the premiere in the ADAC GT Masters

13.08.2019

For the first time this weekend, the Frikadelli Racing Team will compete in the ADAC GT Masters. The guest start at the Nürburgring serves to gain a comprehensive insight into the "league of super sports cars". In the process, the gained empirical values will be incorporated into the decision-making process concerning the field of application of Frikadelli Racing in the year 2020.

"In recent years, Frikadelli Racing has focused almost exclusively on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Although the Nordschleife is right on our doorstep, we still feel that it is time to take on a new challenge. The ADAC GT Masters is a possible platform next year. But there are a few other racing series that are of interest to us. We will take a closer look at these as the season progresses”, explains team boss Klaus Abbelen.

At the upcoming appearance in the ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring, the Frikadelli Racing Team will use the newly Porsche 911 GT3 R. In addition to team boss Klaus Abbelen, Porsche Young Professional Matt Campbell will be driving the startnumber 30. In total, more than 30 GT3 vehicles from eight different manufacturers are expected for the showdown in the Eifel.

"The ADAC GT Masters has developed very well in recent years and regularly offers exciting motorsport at the highest level. Now we are looking forward to collecting our own experiences at the Nürburgring. We will then incorporate the impressions into our decision for 2020", says Abbelen. His teammate Matt Campbell adds: "I am delighted to be competing with Frikadelli Racing in the ADAC GT Masters. It will certainly be a great new experience for the whole team as well as for me personally”.

The TV channel Sport1 will be broadcasting the two races of the ADAC GT Masters on Saturday, 17.08.2019 (2.45 pm) and Sunday, 18.08.2019 (1.00 pm) live in full length.
