At the first appearance with the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992), the Frikadelli Racing team was able to finish on the podium right away. "Jules", Klaus Abbelen and Felipe Laser secured third place in the AM category of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring and thus celebrated a successful start to the new motorsport season.

“We got used to the new vehicle pretty quickly and found a good initial setup for our race premiere. We certainly haven't been able to fully exploit the potential of the Porsche 992 this weekend, but I'm very happy with the podium finish at the start. It was a good start for us and we'll come back even stronger next time," sums up team boss Klaus Abbelen.

With the best weather conditions, the newly created one-make cup within the Nürburgring long-distance series already provided a lot of excitement and tight time gaps in qualifying. With a lap time of 8:11.796 min., Felipe Laser positioned the #111 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) of Frikadelli Racing on the seventh starting position in the hard-fought Cup2 class. After the 90-minute session, the team from Barweiler was within striking distance of the best-placed vehicles that are eligible to start in the AM classification. In the race, "Jules" took over the first stint and was able to successfully establish himself in this area. Klaus Abbelen and Felipe Laser also delivered a flawless performance, which was rewarded with third place in the AM category at the end of the four-hour race.

“I am very happy with our first appearance of the new season. The entire Frikadelli Racing Team did an excellent job preparing the vehicle. The car ran smoothly throughout the weekend. In addition, Klaus, Felipe and I were able to deliver consistently fast lap times. I'm really looking forward to the remaining races of the season," said Jules.

His teammate Laser adds: “It's always challenging to drive a Porsche Cup car, but it's a lot of fun. We can be quite satisfied with the result, precisely because we made another significant step forward from qualifying to the race. Klaus and "Jules" did a very good job and I'm convinced that they will both achieve more podium finishes this season."
