Frikadelli Racing starts the 24h Nürburgring as defending champions

The 24-hour race at the Nürburgring (30.05.-02.06.24) is the big highlight of the season for Frikadelli Racing. After last year's convincing overall victory and setting a new distance record, team boss Klaus Abbelen's squad is aiming for another top result in this year's edition.
“The overall victory in 2023 was of course an absolute dream come true. We have been working towards this moment for years and have had to accept numerous setbacks along the way. Ultimately, however, this triumph has shown that you should never give up fighting for your big goal and that hard work pays off in the end. It was a truly unique moment that we will always remember fondly,” recalls Team Principal Klaus Abbelen.
At this year's edition of the Nürburgring 24 Hours, the team from Barweiler will once again be competing with a Ferrari 296 GT3, which will be shared by Daniel Keilwitz, Luca Ludwig and Nicolas Varrone together with Felipe Laser. While Laser was already a member of the winning driver quartet from last year, Keilwitz, Ludwig and Varrone celebrated their race premiere in the cockpit of “Bella 2.0” during the 24h Qualifiers.
“In preparation for this year's 24-hour race, our main focus was on getting used to the new Michelin tires and developing a good basic set-up. It was also important to integrate the three new drivers into our team. In the upcoming practice sessions, we will now try to optimize the setup in the best possible way under the prevailing track conditions in order to be well prepared for the top qualifying and the 24h race,” Abbelen continues.
The 24h weekend begins for Frikadelli Racing on Thursday with the first two qualifying sessions. Another session will follow on Friday before the top qualifying session in the evening, which will decide the final starting grid. The race starts on Saturday at 16:00.
