Frikadelli Racing with Ferrari comeback at eighth NLS round
18.09.2023
125 days after the historic overall victory at the 24h Nürburgring, Frikadelli Racing returns to the Nordschleife with a Ferrari 296 GT3. David Pittard and Nick Catsburg will alternate in the cockpit for the race debut of the new "Bella". A first rollout of the car already took place during Friday practice at the 12h Nürburgring.
"After winning the AM championship title with our Porsche 992 GT3 Cup in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Nürburgring at the last NLS round ahead of schedule, the focus for the rest of the year is on the new Ferrari 296 GT3. For us, this marks the start of preparations for next year's 24-hour race, where we want to be right up there at the front fighting for the podium again," explains team boss Klaus Abbelen.
With David Pittard and Nick Catsburg, two drivers from the successful driver quartet of the 24h Nürburgring will be piloting the new work machine at the eighth NLS round.
David Pittard: "I am really looking forward to my comeback with Frikadelli Racing! Even though we recently achieved the greatest possible success with the overall victory at the 24h Nürburgring, development in motorsport never stands still. Therefore, it is important to continue to drive this process forward and to constantly improve. So I'm looking forward to a productive weekend with Nicky, the team and of course the Ferrari!"
Nick Catsburg: "For me, it will be my first race on the Nordschleife since winning the 24h Nürburgring. This unique success with the Ferrari 296 GT3 of Frikadelli Racing is of course still in my best memory and it is nice to return now in the same combination. I'm really looking forward to the team and the new car now that our winning car has found its deserved place in the museum."
On Saturday, 23/09/2023, qualifying is first on the agenda from 8.30am - 10.00am before the start of the 4h race at 12.00pm. As usual, both will be broadcast live and in full length on the Youtube channel of the Nürburgring Endurance Series.
