Frikadelli Racing with full vehicle line-up at the start of the season
23.06.2020
Frikadelli Racing will start the motorsport season 2020 next Saturday with the first run of the Nürburgring endurance series. This puts an end to the long wait for the first race after the COVID19 outbreak. In the opening race, the team from Barweiler will use both Porsche 911 GT3 R and the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport (type 982).
"After being very satisfied with the course of the test and setting rides, we are looking forward to now also cover the first race kilometres on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. We hope to get over the distance without incident and to be able to confirm the positive impressions from the test drives," says team leader Klaus Abbelen.
The wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 R with the starting number 31 will be shared by the two Porsche factory drivers Kévin Estre (France) and Michael Christensen (Denmark). Together, the driver duo won the GT World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) in the pre-season. Lance David Arnold, Alex Müller, Sabine Schmitz and Klaus Abbelen will take turns in the cockpit on the sister vehicle with the starting number 30.
Compared to the test and adjustment drives, the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport (Type 982) is now also the third vehicle. "Jules" and Hendrik von Danwitz, who won the driver/team championship in the Porsche Cayman GT4 (type 981) in the VLN with the previous model in 2019, will again attack together for Frikadelli Racing.
